Nurturing comes naturally to us.
We are passionate about your child’s learning journey and recognise that no child or their family is the same. Our practices are based on research in child development and mental health to ensure that we are making informed decisions about the delivery of the curriculum and learning outcomes.
It’s funny, but people tend not to reflect on the fact that two of the most important developmental milestones in a child’s life – learning how to walk and how to talk – happen naturally. No one teaches a child how to walk or talk. Children are natural learners and master these very complex skills by constantly exploring and experimenting on their own.
Tapping into this innate drive to learn is the most powerful way of enabling children to realise their full potential. But free, unstructured exploration and experimentation (what we often think of as “play” when it comes to children) gradually gives way to more heavily formatted experiences as you enter primary school. Kindergarten and preschool thus represent unique opportunities for children to grow freely – in the process mastering a range of skills useful in all kinds of learning.
Drawing on over 13 years’ experience in childcare services, Seedlings & Co. are at the forefront of this science. We complement our programs within the Early Years Learning Framework with nature play or bush kindy activities. Because modern research findings are clear: unstructured play in nature, coupled with a healthy diet and deep personal connections create the strongest foundation for a happy childhood and later academic success.
At Seedlings & Co., we employ a child-focussed philosophy, where healthy, home-cooked meals, unstructured outdoor play and close relationships with the local Indigenous and international community are part of the everyday fun.
